Summer Haircuts

We buzzed the kids hair for summer. They love their hair so much I'm afraid they will want to buzz their hair all the time now! I think they just like looking like Daddy who buzzes his hair weekly.

Yummy Ice Cream

What is better than ice cream when it is 100 degrees outside! I am hopeful that someday my kids will learn to eat ice cream and popsicles without dripping it all over themselves. Oh well off to the bathtub again.

First Dr. Visit

So the kids and I went to see the Midwife. The kids had no clue why we were there and then she did an ultrasound and showed the kids the baby and the heartbeat. The kids were in shock! Bigman must have asked 5 times Is there really a baby in there? The baby measured 7 weeks at the ultrasound which puts my due date at January 15th. I'm hoping to get through Christmas since both of the boys were early. After we left the kids were jumping up and down so excited and then Bigman turns to me very seriously and says We need to call Daddy. It was really cute, he thinks he knew before Daddy and had to tell him all about it. So of course all the kids can talk about is the baby and have to tell everyone we see and want to see the ultrasound over and over. I hope that they are this excited when the baby comes!

Baby Hummingbirds

We were eating dinner outside the other night at my Mom's house when we noticed this golf ball sized nest in the tree above us. So of course we had to get out a ladder and look inside.
Inside were the cutest little baby hummingbirds! They look like they are about ready to leave the nest since they hardly fit anymore, but we are going to keep an eye on them until they fly away. Mama hummingbird was coming and going to the next and we had fun watching them for a little while.

The Girl Next Door...

We are very lucky to have a lot of kids the same age nearby. Every evening there are anywhere from 4-10 kids playing at our house. I think that Big Man has a favorite, though! The girl from next door makes him act very strangely. For a kid who claims he cannot get himself dressed or do much by himself, as soon as he sees her outside he manages to get dressed very quickly and then will run out and ask me if he looks handsome!
She is very nice to him too, she is 7 so I'm sure she only sees him as a little brother type.

Wildlife World Zoo

We went to the Wildlife zoo yesterday. I love how close you can get to the animals at this zoo and the different animal feeding opportunities. It is especially fun going with Daddy because the kids then only want Daddy to take them potty or get them anything! Oh Darn...

What do you do when the kids are bored?

Throw a bunch of shells on the table and tell them if they listen closely each shell says something different! They tried listening for a long time and then just started making up what the shells were saying. Worked for me!

Conversation With a 2 Year Old

Little Man: Daddy I want to buy a boat (They looked at boats at Bass Pro Shop this week).
Daddy: Go talk to Mommy.
Little Man: Mommy can we buy a boat?
Mommy: We need more money to buy a boat.
Little Man to Daddy: Mommy said yes, she said yes (while jumping up and down excited).

I guess it starts young with males only hearing what they want to:)

Baby Bunnies

Yesterday some friends came over to Grandma's house and the neighbor let us borrow her baby bunnies. The kids all had a great time and they really want to get some bunnies for our house now. I told them as long as we have a dog we cannot have bunnies because dogs eat bunnies. On the way home big man said can't we give away our dog so that we can have bunnies. I don't like our dog anymore. Poor Valentine.

Not Dead Yet...

I think that the heat is going to kill it soon, but hopefully we can keep it alive a couple more weeks.

Playing With Rice

Who knew 10 Lbs of colored rice could be so much fun. The boys played for hours with the rice. I only get it out about once a month and they are always excited to see it!

My Little Mother

Last night the hubster had asked big man if he wanted to go to Bass Pro shop with him to shop for hunting/camping/fishing stuff. Usually he would jump at the chance to go, but instead he said: Mom, is Amimi (his nickname for my niece) coming over? I told him yes. He told the hubster: No, I want to stay with Amimi, little man will go with you. He played with her all day, too! She is here just about every day, but he doesn't ever get sick of her.

5 Years Ago Today

I can't believe it has been 5 years all ready! I never would have guessed that 2 months later I would be pregnant with big man, and that on our second anniversary I would all ready be pregnant with little man. We didn't want to waste any time I guess.

Naptime

My kids will rarely take a nap anymore, they will just lay in bed for an hour staring at the ceiling instead. Usually I just put them to bed early, but on the days they are very tired and cranky I will drive around and if I roll down the windows and put on rap music they will fall asleep quickly! If must be something about the bump bump. I use to try classical or children's lulluby's but it doesn't work as well. I don't understand it either, but I just do what works. Also, the kids dressed themselves today before the drive, which would expain why they are wearing long sleeves and a jacket when it is 90 degrees out!

One of their favorite meals...

Who doesn't love an octopus on top of their macaroni, especially gluten free macaroni? This idea came from Chris, and the kids ask for it all of the time now!

Boys and Dolls

I have been watching my 3 month old niece quite a bit and now my kids love to play with dolls! We did not have any so my mom had to bring some over so that they would leave the real baby alone.

Moving up from Motorcycle Lemonade...

Now they like to sip on a multicar combo. My kids are obsessed lately with putting things in water and then drinking it! I guess it could be worse.

No Fish Today

Today we waited and waited but caught no fish.

So the kids had fun playing in the water, and playing with this...

The lizard was fun, it just let you hold it and the kids put it on their shoulder and walked around for a while. They were trying to pull of its tail too, but Daddy wouldn't let them!

They thought it would be fun to try and climb a tree too.

I don't know why Big Man always wants to wear his helmet. I guess a fire could be dangerous too:)

Our Day Fishing

We spent a lot of time sitting by the shore today.

Then they started catching them.

The kids caught about 8 fish today, we took 4 of them back to camp to cook! They caught more than anyone else that we ran into today.

Another Camping Trip

This weekend we are camping by Woods Canyon lake, it is 65 degrees and beautiful.

The kids are enjoying exploring with their magnifying glasses.

There has been some relaxing as well.

It was a great evening for a walk.

She loves camping too!
