Goodbye Diamondbacks

We went to the last game of the season yesterday. The kids love baseball, or any sport for that matter so they had a good time. Our tickets were in the wheelchair section, but it had a good view of the field!
Afterwards they let the kids run the bases, they thought that was fun. Big Man just kept running though, even when he was done running the bases. He left me far behind and didn't seem to care that he was running toward the exit without me! He finally heard my screams to stop and just looked at me like What's the big deal, I don't need you!

Butterfly Garden

The butterfly garden at the botanical gardens opened yesterday. We go twice a year and I would have waited another month to go as it was hot, but my friend Lori had mentioned on her blog that you could get in for free yesterday. I never turn down free so off we went!
They had a lot of helpful volunteers that tried showing my kids how to use magnifying glasses.
It is a little hard to see in this picture, but there were hundreds of butterfly's flying around.
The kids were mesmerized by the butterfly's as they usually are. They can just stare at them and look for their straw they use to drink with.

Arizona Museum For Youth

I took the kids out to Mesa yesterday to the youth museum. It was o.k., but I was expecting a little more!
They had a couple of art projects to do including a collage and paper flowers.
They also had some blocks around to play with as well. The reason I had chosen this day was because it was advertised as a "construction zone" afternoon with thousands of blocks. There were very few blocks out, but the kids did have fun anyways.
Their favorite spots were the play kitchen and the play cafe. They loved wearing aprons and cooking food and bringing it to me. The kids were entertained for a couple of hours, but I don't think I'll be going back any time soon!

Conversation Overheard At Breakfast...

Big Man: When I grow up I'm going to go with my wife to the hospital when she has her babies.

Little Man: Me too, I want LOTS of babies.

Big Man: I want 3 babies, in my wife's tummy at the same time.

Little Man: I want 4 babies.

Big Man: I'm going to go with my wife to the baby store and get the baby seat.

Little Man: Me too.

Big Man: I'm never going to tell my kids when they have to go to bed, they can go to bed whenever they want. I'm going to let them have ice cream for breakfast and I'm never going to send them to their room when they are naughty. I'm just going to stare.

Little Man: Me too.

Why I Never...

Lay Big Man down for naps unless I lay with him. He is usually not very tired and there always seems to be some noise some where that he is trying to find, which for some reason he can never find. I usually just tell him to play quietly and to not bother me at all so I can lay down. He may not need a nap, but I do!

What Happens When I Leave...

and Dad is suppose to be watching! I come home and I hear the kids giggling and I see Big Man in a strange position around a corner and I ask what are you doing? My hubby then pops his head out from the hall and looks at the kids and looks at me and says you don't want to know! Then Little Man peeks his head around the corner and just says I silly. I guess it is better than the walls.
Big Man sure thought it was cool to have a colored booty. He was showing it off like it was a tatoo to anyone that would look today.

Today's Torture

Broccoli!!! I have been trying to get out a plate of veggies and different dips about once a week. This week I put out broccoli for the first time. The kids have to eat at least one of each kind and they can dip it in whatever they want. Big Man likes to dip in salsa and Little Man will just eat them plain. Big Man never could get the broccoli swallowed, but he did try it. I am not a big fan of raw broccoli either so I can't really blame him:)

Westcor Kids Club

I think that the Westcor Mall Kids Club is one of the best free monthly events for kids. Especially where we go, there is only like 20 kids so the kids get to participate in everything!
There is a lot of singing,
and marching (although I think he is only worried about checking out the girls!)
and playing musical instruments.

22 Weeks

My belly is definitely growing, (unfortunately so if my backside and everything else!) I was complaining to my hubby the other day that I am going to be enormous and his kind response was: Did you expect this one to be different? You always get enormous when pregnant! I know I do, but I do keep trying to forget about all the weight I gain, and I really was hoping that this time would be different. If I could only stop eating cereal and ice cream. Those have been my downfalls with every pregnancy. The specific kinds have changed. Right now it is neopolitan ice cream and fruity pebbles. Very healthy, I know:)
Here is the blanket I am crocheting right now. I am also in the process of making her a quilt. I am lucky it is a girl because I had a quilt almost done that I had been working on so I don't have to start from scratch. All I need to do is the border and the backing.

Frogs

The kids had their class at the Science Center this week on Frogs. Like most boys they love frogs and had a great time. Once again Little Man did great so he is going to be able to join us for every class now. Yay!
Playing musical lilypads.
Trying to eat like a frog and get some bugs!
The frog they got to touch and look at.
Then we got to watch the frogs eat their lunch of crickets, yummy! After the class we went to a planetarium show and then we saw an Imax movie called amazing journeys. This is one of the best nature movies I have ever seen, you should go see it if you have a chance!

Silly Shoes

Big Man is an Awana Cubbie at church this year and tonight was silly shoe night. Being the boy that he is, he wanted to decorate his shoes with toilet paper and garbage, but since I am mean I told him no and got out the craft supplies and told him to pick! After we were done he thought these were the coolest shoes ever.
Everyone at Awanas tonight thought they were pretty cool too.

Space Center

Yesterday we took the kids to the space center for their monthly preschool class. Since Little Man is almost 3 I decided to sign him up for the preschool classes we do this month. He really did well and he was so excited to be able to go!
First thing we did was a simulated space flight. Then they went back to the classroom and learned about Mercury. Big Man just had to go and prove how smart he was! When the teacher asked what planet we live on he said Arizona. Then later she asked what was the difference between two sets of planets she was holding up and he raised his hand and said It was raining when we left our house! All righty then, I don't really get it:) It continued today when in the middle of reading a book during storytime at the library he raised his hand to tell the teacher he got new shoes. He use to know how to pay attention and answer correctly but I guess we are digressing at the moment!
Of course there was singing and dancing about all of the planets!
Then arts and crafts time where they made a sun with a solar flare and a diagram of the solar system.

Apple Picking

The kids stayed the night at my Father in Laws, aka far away Grandpa, with their cousins and when we went to pick them up today we decided to take the kids to pick apples at the orchard since we were all ready half way there.
Although it was still a little hot, it was beautiful. When you are driving in it is hard to imagine that there really is an orchard in the middle of the desert.
The apple crop was not the best this year so Daddy and Far Away Grandpa had to work hard to get the good apples and pears.
The kids thought it was pretty cool that there were cows roaming through the orchard, they are hard to see but they are behind the trees.
The apples and pears and the hard workers! It was pretty funny because after we had a decent amount of fruit I looked through the box and realized that my neice had been taking one bite out of all of the fruit she had been putting into the box! I guess she wanted to make sure that it tasted o.k.!
Of course we had to come home and get out our peeler/slicer/corer thing. All of the fruit tastes great and tomorrow we are making apple cobbler. If I can find the energy we will probably make applesause this week too.

Pink

It is so much fun buying pink! I just knew this was the set for the baby when I saw it.
Now I just need to match the paint and get some new curtains! I did find these really neat mesh box/drawer things at target today. They come in every color and they are only $5! I love them, I bought 4 but I am going to go back and buy a couple more because they match so nicely and I always need more storage. Especially since her closet is still packed with the boys toys!

21 Weeks

Today was my 21 week appointment. The Dr. did the diagnostic ultrasound and she (100% now!) looks great. The baby weighs about 1.1 lbs and is measuring about 4 days ahead which is perfect. After the diagnostic ultrasound he did a 4D image and doesn't she look beautiful:) It is amazing how much like a baby they really look so early. (That is her foot by her head.)

Today Was The Second Time This Year...

That I have come out of the grocery store with a cart full of groceries and two kids to find I have a flat tire. So frustrating, thank goodness for AAA and my Dad who came and picked up my kids and the cold groceries since it took them an hour to get there!

No More Toddler Bed!
