Is It Time, Or Not???

I thought I was going to have the baby yesterday...I started having contractions about 11 in the morning about 6-8 minutes apart, by 5 they were about 4 minutes apart, but not terribly strong. We went to fajitas last night as my hubby thought that some spicy food may help move things along, but it didn't. After about midnight they slowed down and I had irregular contractions all night (along with some horrible heartburn!) They have started up again this morning since I've been up so we will see. I don't really want to be in prelabor for days so I hope she makes up her mind to come soon!

Our Christmas

We opened presents at my Mom's on Christmas Eve morning. The kids were just a little excited!
After opening their presents did they even want to play with their gifts? No, they just wanted to play in the boxes and with the bubble wrap!
A co-worker of my hubby's has dressed as Santa and has visited the kids for the past 3 years on Christmas Eve. The kids were so impressed because we were at great grandma's house and he still found us.
Santa gave the kids a gift, it didn't even dawn on me until they were opening them that Big Man was with me when I bought these presents. I think he thought hard when he saw them and then just said to Little Man later: We bought you the same camera at the store, that's crazy! I told him that since Santa brought him the camera I was going to take the other one back.
Christmas morning the kids had stockings and got what they have been talking about for weeks, a trumpet. They were totally convinced they were getting a trumpet but I could not find one in any store. Finally I bought them off of Amazon and just paid for 2 day shipping. It was well worth the smiles on their faces:) We then went and opened presents with my hubby's family as well. The kids are now well stocked on toys and are wondering why Santa can't come more than on Christmas Eve.

Another Appointment...

Had my appointment with my Midwife today and the baby is still head down (yay!!) I'm dilated 2.5-3 cm, 50% effaced and she is at a plus 2 station. I have been having a lot of contractions that really bother me sometimes, but at least now I know the contractions I'm having are actually doing something which makes them a little more bearable.... She said it could be any day, but I still think it will be another week or two. Just in case, though, I came home and cleaned my house. That probably means that she definitely will not come soon, as I'm sure she will wait until my house is a disaster again:) Now if I could just decide on a name. We have had a name picked out for months and now I have decided I don't like it... Needless to say my hubby is not happy, but I can't help it!!! Hopefully by the time she is born the hubby and I can agree on another name.

Snow Day

We went up to Flagstaff last weekend to let the kids play in the snow for a while. We have a spot right off of the highway that we have gone to for the past 3 years that works out perfectly and we are always by ourselves in fresh snow!
Trying to build a snowman.
Isn't he cute:) It is hard to tell from the picture, but he is only like 18 inches tall!
Then we got out the saucer and all the boys (even daddy) took turns riding down the hill.
It's a boy thing, not much else to say about it as I don't understand it!

It Worked!!!

The baby is head down now after the version. The entire procedure probably took one minute, but it was an excruciating minute. The babies heart rate stayed the same before, during and after so she did not seem to mind at all. The Dr. said the baby is over 7 pounds, so I'm hoping she doesn't wait too long to come as I want her to be able to wear all of her little clothes! I'm dilated to 1 and 50% effaced and am still having a lot of contractions so you never know...

Gingerbread Village

While we were out shopping the other day we stopped in at the Marriot hotel by Desert Ridge mall to look at their Gingerbread village. The kids really liked it. They had a train running through it and Sponge Bob lived in just about every house!
If you go in that area soon I would highly recommend stopping and looking at them.

Daddy's Old

Daddy turned the big 3-0 today! The kids think that is really old. This is how he looked when I met him when he was 14!

I can't believe we have known each other for almost 16 years, that is a really long time! He no longer has the long brown hair, or much hair for that matter but I do think he looks good bald!

Back in those days we would talk on the phone all of the time. I can remember actually being on the phone with him for 8 straight hours one day when I was stuck on the couch with a sprained ankle (that was his fault too!) Now I am lucky if I can get 5 minutes out of him on the phone.

I didn't really believe him when he told me back in high school that we were going to get married, but I'm glad he never gave up on me since I can't imagine being married to anyone else:)

36 Weeks

Had my appointment with both my Midwife and the O.B. Dr. at the practice and baby is still breech:( We had not really been considering doing a version but the Dr. told us that he will be very gentle and she will be monitered the whole time to make sure that she isn't under any stress. I had read a lot of scary things about doing a version on the internet but my Dr. said he has never had a bad outcome in 20 years and that if I was his daughter he would be doing a version instead of just scheduling a c-section. They said the baby is in a good position, kind of sideways and I have lots of fluid and he thought there was an 80% chance of getting her to flip. So this Sunday I will be in the hospital and hopefully come home with a head down baby!
Went shopping today as Children's Place and Carters were having big sales and here are a couple of the outfits my Mom got her. She has so many dresses and skirts that these are probably going to be her everyday kind of clothes! I also don't think she will be wearing the same thing more than once for at least 6 months, do you think she is going to be spoiled!

Future BMX Riders...

The kids can manage to find some sort of obstacle course even if I think I am taking them to a nice boring park! I try and get them to ride around the playground and then go play on the playground, but no, all they want to do is 4-wheel their bikes over the biggest sidewalks and down any hill they can find!

I am very worried about their lack of fear!Of course he wants to be just like his big brother.

ZooLights

We went to the Phoenix Zoo last week for zoolights. The hubby and I hadn't been in about 5 years and the kids had never gone. I think I enjoyed it the most, but the kids had a pretty good time.
It appeared to be someone's lucky night as this came on about halfway through the night!
This big talking giraffe was the kids favorite part. You can tell a guy your kids name and he will have the giraffe say there name and when the giraffe said the kids names Big Man yelled so loudly How did he do that, ever since he has asked several times as well How did that giraffe know my name, that is sooo crazy!
Hubby's favorite part was probably getting to meet Mohammad Ali who was at Zoolights with his family and was just meeting people in the food court. All he cared about were the kids and tried giving both my kids hugs and putting them on his lap, but they were absolutely terrified. I couldn't even get Big Man to stand by Daddy for a picture, nor could I get Mohammad Ali to look at the camera:)

He really didn't say anything but anytime a baby or small child would go by he would light up and would want to kiss and hold the little babies, it was very sweet

Pictures

I have not been very good about taking the kids to get pictures this year, so in one day we did Little Man's 3rd birthday pictures, Fall pictures, Christmas pictures and Santa pictures! They did so good getting their pictures taken, only a few goofy smiles:)

My Lounging Position...

Yes, the ironing board is now broken...But I keep telling myself it is from the kids jumping on it and not from me laying on it:) Had 35 week check-up today, still breech:(

Monday, December 8, 2008

We went to the light parade on Saturday night. This is the 3rd year that we have gone and it was the most crowded by far! Next year we will definitely have to get there in the afternoon to set up our spot. We still had decent seats and got to see lots of good lights, though.

Can Style Be Learned???

I have been trying very hard lately to let Big Man pick out his clothes and nicely telling him when things don't match and helping him learn which clothes go with what. I don't think it is sinking in...He is obsessed with wearing 2 shirts for some reason, and thinks that shirts look best tucked in. He thinks he looks good and will spend some time every day just trying on outfits like this one and will come out and say I just wanted to see how this would look together. There are many days where I choose not to fight him on his clothes, so if you see us out together and wonder why he is wearing what he is, just know that I am thinking the same thing:)
Little Man insisted I take his picture in the exact same silly pose. Thankfully he will still let me pick out his clothes for the most part, now if he would just leave them on that would be great!

The First Gingerbread Houses

For the past few years we have been going to a friends house and having a Gingerbread House party. First the kids make ornaments and then put together little houses.
Little Man was pretty particular about which candies he wanted in his pile.

Big Man loves to decorate and doesn't care about getting dirty. Little Man, though, after putting on about 4 candies wanted to go wash his hands and was done. He was the same way last year, but I was hoping he would enjoy it a little more this year. We will probably put together 1 or 2 more houses this year so we will see if Little Man gets into it then.
I didn't get any of the final product (bad Mommy!), but here they are destroying and eating them today!

Turn Baby Turn

Today I had my first Webster Technique to help the baby to turn. The Chiropractor was so nice and seemed very knowledgeable, he came highly recommended by a midwife I know and he told me that he sees new women with breech babies every week and is able to help a majority of them. He felt the back of my pelvis and said Yep, frank breech is what I am feeling from your pelvis. He explained that the pelvis moves differently depending on what part of the baby is down. He then massaged my round ligaments which have really hurt me this pregnancy and said that they should loosen up as my right one especially was very constricted and that will make more room at the bottom of my uterus. He said he can generally get babies to turn as long as there is not a cord issue, so I am pretty hopeful that this along with laying on the ironing board 3x a day upside down will get her to turn! I will get another Webster on Monday and then see the midwife on Wed. so hopefully she will be turned by then so I don't have to meet with the Dr. to discuss my alternatives.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a different note... The kids were laying down patting my belly and talking to the baby and I was telling Big Man that he use to love laying on my belly when Little Man was in there. Then Little Man asked if he use to do that when Big Man was in my belly. Big Man tells him, No silly, you were still a seed at the store and Mommy and Daddy hadn't bought you yet! And no, I did not correct him.

Christmas Decorations

We always decorate the day after Thanksgiving as we are so excited for Christmas.A close-up of Big Man's eye where he got a bad carpet burn from crashing on a riding toy at Grandma's house on Thanksgiving.
The kids did all of the decorating this year, so you can imagine how our tree looks:)
After the tree was decorated we put our Christmas train together. It was a fun time. Hopefully the baby doesn't come before I have a chance to take all of our Christmas decorations down or they may be up until Valentines day!
